How bout them lights…. They were a real game changer last night at the Super Bowl. In the midst of a route of the 49ers, something happened. The lights went out in the stadium. This obviously had an effect on the teams and the game. The Ravens got comfortable or lost focus. The 49ers got a game plan or second wind or some extra juice they needed to make a comeback. In “light of all this”, we have circumstances that are game changers in our lives. We cannot control these things. It is up to us to look at these times to grow or get better. The only thing that would have made the story even better is if the 49ers won, but don’t discount the Ravens who have made a season of overcoming adversity and winning in spite of all odds stacked against them. So, “how bout them lights” in your life? What are you doing during times when the lights go out on you?

Plan B?

In 2010, my family income was cut by almost 60%, if someone walk up to you today at your job and said, “we have to let you go”, how would you handle that? Do you have a plan B?
Luckily, I did not have a lot of excess debt and a small Plan B.
I look at businesses, families, churches and government programs that are spending out of control that expect everyone to bail them out. It never ceases to amaze me how people can look toward others to pay for this type of careless activity. You have big banks who give loans to people who can’t pay them. Organizations that spend 70% to 90% of their donations on admin fees. Families that live pay check to pay check looking for answers when they lose.
My point to all of this is, we need to be more responsible with what we already have.

In my humble opinion, you are exactly who you want to be. You make choices good or bad. You get out of bed everyday early or late. You go to work or be lazy. You eat too much or not enough. You can be angry or sad. You can be happy or optimistic. You can choose prosperity or being broke. You can spend all your money or save some of it. You can choose faith or belief in something or someone. You can choose to not believe in anyone, yourself a higher power or worship a stump of grass of you do choose. You can choose to hold on to hurt or let it go. You can choose to hate the person you see in the mirror. You can love the person you are becoming. You can break hearts or heal souls. You can be exactly who you want to be. No one is stopping you from being you. You can blame everyone, everything, circumstance, your upbringing, your social environment, your culture, your faith, your parents, your physician, your spouse, your income, your government, your education, bad breaks, bad luck, past hurts and emotional scaring. All of these things make you who you are today, but you still choose to be exactly who you say you are!
